OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to explore the historical development and core concepts of human rights while introducing students to different cultural perspectives on these principles. It also enables students to examine national and international human rights documents and institutions, assess contemporary violations, and develop awareness of the rights of vulnerable groups.
Contents of the Course Unit: The course covers the historical foundations of human rights, key concepts, and various intellectual perspectives shaped by different civilisations. It examines national and international human rights documents, institutions, and mechanisms, and addresses contemporary human rights issues, violations, and the protection of vulnerable groups.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Interpret the development of human rights within the context of Feudal Period-Modern State
Analyze problem areas regarding human rights in line with the theoretic framework
Examine historical development of Human Rights concept in Turkey over case studies
Evaluate problem areas regarding human rights within the scope of international and national Protection Regime.
