OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to; to evaluate religion from a sociological perspective, to distinguish the multifaceted relationship of religion with social integration, differentiation, change, economy and state relations, and to evaluate the role of religion in daily life and social movements today.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of this course; sociology and sociology of religion, birth and development of sociology of religion, methods and techniques of sociology of religion, religion and society relationship, religious groups, religion and social integration, religion and social differentiation, religion and social change, religion and economy, religion and state relations, religion authority types, new religious movements, religion and daily life issues.

Distinguish the development of the sociology of religion in the history of sociology.
Summarizes the concepts, methods and techniques of the sociology of religion.
Establishes and interprets the relationship between religion and social integration and differentiation.
Evaluates the interaction of religion with other factors such as social change, economy and state relations.
Develops a perspective on the functions of religion in society based on what you have learned.
