OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | With this course, using soil mechanics laboratory equipments, will be able to determine the engineering properties of soils. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Soil formation, types, properties and classification, Soil analysis methods, Soil and examination tools used, Floor of the methods of sampling, inspection pit types and trench techniques, drilling equipment and sampling, soil-water relationships, water content of the soil properties on the effect of water in soil content detection methods, soil grain size classification, dry and wet sieve analysis, hydrometer analysis, soil unit weight determination, on-site (in the field) test methods and sand cone method floors course unit weight determination, hydrometer tests, the Atterberg limits and detection methods, soil consistency limits according to the classification, Casagrande device and the liquid limit determination, Atterberg limits in determining Cone sinking method, the plastic limit test, Plasticity index determination, shrinkage limit test. |
