OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to provide students with the knowledge and skills of the basic concepts of public health, the role of public health in the prevention of important diseases affecting public health and how to use public health systematically for the protection and development of individual, family and community health.
Contents of the Course Unit: Introduction to Public Health, Concept of Public Health, Concept of Public Health and Its Historical Development, Health Protection and Development, Disease and Health, Criteria Determining Health Level, Demographic-Population Structure, Health Management, Maternal Health, Family Planning, Health Education, Immunization, Environment Health, Occupational Health.

Explain the importance of public health
To be able to define the basic concepts related to the branch of public health
Explain the conditions needed to be healthy and promote health
To be able to interpret the important/priority health problems of special groups in the society from a public health perspective.
