OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | It's aimed to gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes regarding the importance of maternal and child nutrition, requirements for pregnancy and infant feeding, nutritional needs of children, nutritional issues and solutions, as well as medical nutrition therapy. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | The importance of maternal and child nutrition in the world and Türkiye, nutrition before pregnancy, physiological changes and nutritional requirements during pregnancy and breastfeeding, infant nutrition for ages 0-1, breast milk, complementary feeding and infant formulas, characteristics of the preschool, school-aged, and adolescent periods, energy and nutrient requirements, nutrition-related issues and solutions, and dietary therapy. |
