OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Auditory education is aimed at gaining knowledge and attitudes regarding the auditory rehabilitation process for individuals with hearing loss.
Contents of the Course Unit: Auditory training, effective use of hearing aids, effective use of cochlear implants, orientation, assistive listening devices and their effective use, effects of hearing loss in children and meeting the needs, auditory / cognitive training in adult hearing loss, program determination for case examples with different auditory impairments, auditory perception processes.

Describes the characteristics of hearing loss.
Distinguishes the amplification tools used in children and adults.
Describes the effective use of assistive listening devices in children.
Describes the social/ emotional effects of hearing loss on children and their families.
Shows the knowledge and skills acquired in public health practices for the protection, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of hearing health.
Adheres standard rules and ethical values in rehabilitative audiology content.
Describes the effect of certain degrees and configurations of loss on language acquisition.
Describes the impact of loss of certain degree and configuration on academic skills.
Distinguishes educational / communication options in individuals with hearing loss.
Composes a habilitative plan for individuals with hearing loss.
