OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to introduce basic concepts regarding the communication between people with several cultural background from local or international aspects and current theories. This course enables students to evaluate cultural behaviours, communication barriers, cultural daptation processes, intercultural communication competency and organizational behaviour, cultural differences in management and leadership.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include relations between culture and communication, cultural differneces and importance of intercultural communication for individuals and organizations in the global world. Cultural barriers, prejudices, styreotype concepts are discuseed in the course. Studetns are expected to write and article regarding the course subjects and make a presentation of it at the end of the term.

Describe basic concepts in intercultural communication.
Explain historical development of intercultural communication.
Compare features of intercultural differences and organizational behaviour.
