OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It provides students with information about regulations, legislation, and the structure and operation of ambulances and emergency services
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic Concepts Related to Health and Illness, Emergency Medicine and the Development of the Healthcare System, Structure of the Healthcare System and Health Indicators in Türkiye, Legislation Regarding Emergency Medical Services in Türkiye (ambulance, emergency department, operation, job descriptions), Types of Records in Emergency Medical Services, Communication in Emergency Medical Services, UMKE (National Medical Rescue Team).

It accurately expresses the basic definitions of the concepts of illness and health.
It explains the historical development of emergency medical services and summarizes how they have reached the present day.
It explains the structure of the health organization in Turkey and the relationships between its units.
It describes the professional roles of paramedics by explaining their duties, authority, and responsibilities.
It describes the operation of different ambulance types and the essential equipment they should carry, and relates them to appropriate usage examples.
It explains the communication methods and standard forms used in emergency medical services in a way that is appropriate for the field and relates them to example cases.
