OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to equip students with the knowledge and awareness to evaluate developmental processes during childhood and adolescence by addressing moral, language, and sexual development, as well as the development of gender roles, within the framework of theoretical approaches.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course covers theories of moral development, factors influencing moral development, approaches to language development and nonverbal communication, sexual development according to age groups, sexual development in childhood and adolescence, sexual identity and sexual education, and the development of gender roles.

It explains the basic concepts related to moral development.
It compares the theories of moral development of Freud, Piaget, and Kohlberg.
It analyzes individual, familial, and environmental factors that influence moral development.
It explains the basic definitions and approaches related to language development.
It evaluates the role of nonverbal communication, body language, and movements in language development.
It explains the basic characteristics of sexual development according to age groups.
It evaluates sexual questions and sexual play in childhood from a developmental perspective.
It explains the sexual development process in the school period and determines appropriate education and communication approaches.
It analyzes the characteristics of sexual development in adolescence.
It explains the basic concepts related to sexual identity and sexual education and relates them to the developmental process.
It evaluates the development of gender roles within the context of developmental theories.
