OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental principles of organizational and management planning in the operating room, the operating room team and task assignments, pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative patient care processes, planning and coordination of surgical schedules, equipment-instrument-material management, record and documentation systems, work procedures, patient and employee safety practices, environmental safety and medical waste management, and national and international legal regulations, thereby fostering an awareness of orderly, safe and efficient working practices in the operating room environment.
Contents of the Course Unit: Bu dersin içeriği; ameliyathanede organizasyon ve yönetim planlaması, ameliyathane ekibi ve görev tanımları, çalışma prensipleri, ameliyat öncesi, sırası ve sonrası hasta bakım ve takip süreçleri, ameliyat odalarının ve ameliyat programlarının planlanması (rutin, acil ve büyük afet durumları), ameliyathanede cihaz, alet ve malzeme yönetimi, kayıt ve dokümantasyon sistemleri, arşivleme, nöbet sistemiyle çalışma, hasta ve sağlık çalışanı güvenliği, çevre güvenliği ve tıbbi atık yönetimi ile ulusal ve uluslararası yasal prosedür ve yönetmelikleri kapsamaktadır.

The student can explain the basic principles of organizational and management planning in the operating room.
The student can identify the employees and surgical teams that make up the operating room staff.
The operating room staff can distinguish between the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of the personnel working in the operating room.
They can explain the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care and follow-up processes.
They can describe the planning and coordination processes of operating rooms and surgical schedules.
Can explain how operating room organization is managed in routine, emergency, and major disaster situations.
The student can explain the management processes of the equipment, instruments, and materials used in the operating room.
The student can explain the importance of record-keeping, documentation, and archiving systems in the operating room.
The student can describe the working principles in the operating room, including off-duty and on-call systems.
They can list the precautions that should be taken within the scope of patient and healthcare worker safety.
They can define the national and international legal procedures and regulations that apply in the operating room.
