OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with basic knowledge about radio-television broadcasting by examining the program types on the radio and television, reveal the characteristics and functions of broadcasting, starting from the history of radio and television broadcasting.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include examining the broadcasting process, starting from the history of radio and television broadcasting up to day, within framework of developed technology and legal regulations.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define the concepts of communication and mass communication.
Tell differences of communication and mass communication
List at least 5 characteristics of radio and television as a mass communication tool.
Examine the development of radio and television broadcasting in the World and in Turkey.
Review the management styles of broadcasting institutions comparatively.
Compare broadcasting examples from the World and Turkey.
