| Objectives of the Course Unit: |
The Introduction to Psychology course aims to understand human behavior using scientific methods. |
| Contents of the Course Unit: |
This course introduces the basic concepts, theoretical approaches, and research methods of psychology, and explains fundamental psychological processes such as sensation, perception, consciousness, learning, and memory. In addition, topics including lifespan development, personality, stress, and health psychology are addressed, with a focus on individuals’ psychological responses to health and illness, particularly psychological support approaches in chronic diseases. The course aims to provide a holistic perspective through the integration of theoretical knowledge with examples and discussions. |

| Explain the functioning of human physiology and psychological phenomena. (Bloom's 2) |
| Explain how to intervene in potentially pathological states and conduct them (Bloom's 2) |

| Distinguish different psychological approaches from each other. (Blooms 4) |
| Compare the hypotheses of these approaches, the approaches related to growth and development, perception of anxiety and ways to cope with anxiety. (Bloom's 4) |
