OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: By learning the basic properties and calculation logic of steel structures, being able to calculate load-bearing elements and simple connections in steel structures.
Contents of the Course Unit: History of steel structures, Areas of use of steel structures, Steel as a material, Dimensioning principles of steel structures, Safety, loads and loading conditions, Connections and connection devices, Riveted and bolted connections, Welded connections, Tension bars, Joints of tension bars, Calculation of pressure bars, Single-piece pressure bars, Multi-piece pressure bars, First group multi-piece pressure bars, Calculation of intermediate connections in pressure bars, Second and third group multi-piece pressure bars, Calculation of bending bars, Bending bars arranged with rolled profiles, Joints of bending bars, Bending bars arranged with reinforced rolled profiles, Compound bending, Lattice beams, Calculation of roof trusses, Stability ties and connection details in roofs

Recognizes loads in steel structures and creates different loading combinations.
