OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to define the tasks that a public relations practitioner should undertake in a social media program by introducing new media theories and to present an example of social media campaign.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects as in introducing new media channels, listing the tasks of public relations practitioners in social media, summarizing new media theories, sampling of the intersection points of new media and public relations practices.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

List at least four of the tasks that the public relations specialist should undertake on social media in a social media communication program
Summarize at least two of the new media theories
Explain the connection between public relations and new media with at least 3 examples
Classify the tools and medium of new media
Summarize the new media critical theories through popular culture
Use at least two of the social media channels in a social media communication program
